I have always done arts and crafts of some kind. From fondant cakes to OOAK Barbie dolls. Over 20 years ago I  specialized in restoring vintage Barbies.  From rerooting the hair, styling, rooting lashes, and also makeup.  It's hard to choose my one favorite miniature creation of mine. I'd say it's the miniature Meyers Cleaning set. 

 

I think just about anyone can start making miniatures if they really had the passion to try, fail and succeed!

I highly recommend youtube tutorials. My main advice is to NOT give up after your first try. Keep that first ugly miniature that you feel you made, make another one and try new materials and techniques. I PROMISE you it will look completely different after several tweaks here and there. 

My passion for 1:12 didn't begin until the passing of my dear mother a few years ago. She absolutely loved tiny baby dolls and had them all over her house. I thought it was crazy but look at me now. My husband bought me my first dollhouse kit Victoria's Farmhouse as a way to distract and help me cope. We worked on building that house daily for 6 weeks. I made so much of that furniture and bought the kitchen cabinets. I still can't believe we did all that in 6 weeks. After that, I was hooked. I soon got commissioned by several collectors for my nursery rooms. My husband does all the 3D printing and I do all the laser cutting, painting, and upholstering. I opened my Etsy shop and plan to go full-time next fall. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE what I do!
